| Architectural map IJburg |
The Architectural Map IJburg, which is published annually, has been updated to include the most recent developments. Every year for the past seven years, ARCAM has made an inventory of all the buildings, bridges, parks and artworks which have been completed or are under construction on IJburg: from the first building (the KPN telephone exchange by Herman Zeinstra on Haveneiland West) to the most recent developments, including the private plots on Steigereiland and the first buildings on Haveneiland Oost. This year the map is again bigger as more and more projects are being shaped. This years map will be the last one for the near future.
The history of IJburg’s development is described in Dutch and English. For each island, there is an overview of the work of the designers, architects and clients involved. Photographs of completed buildings and an aerial photograph give an idea of progress on IJburg. Above all, however, this map is an ideal instrument with which to follow developments in this new part of Amsterdam!
