In collaboration with the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam, the Architecture Centre of Amsterdam presents a new season of 1·Lectures this Fall. For the fifth time, we offer a diverse range of subjects from the international world of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture.
Pi de Bruijn (Losser, 1942) is a Dutch architect and co-founder of Architekten Cie. De Bruijn has profound experience working as an architect and urban planner in complex and long-term developments.
In the role of supervisor and city planner, Pi de Bruijn was involved in the development of the Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district. As urban designer, De Bruijn designed the reconstruction of the neigbhourhood Roombeek in Enschede, the affected area of the fireworks disaster. In his lecture, De Bruijn shares his vision on the spatial quality of both projects.
In the year 1988, De Bruijn founded Architekten Cie., together with architects Carel Weeber, Jan Dirk Peereboom Voller and Frits van Dongen. Nowadays, the board consists of architects Pi De Bruijn, Branimir Medić and Pero Puljiz and Erik Vrieling (concepts) and Frank Segaar (COO).
