1·Lectures | Rients Dijkstra


During the 1·Lecture of November 3rd, architect and urbanist Rients Dijkstra shares a broad selection of the works produced by Maxwan architects+urbanists in past and present, as well work related to his positions as supervisor with several projects. All dealing in their own way with the office’s urgent ambition to innovatively (re)define and realize cutting edge urban spatial qualities.

Dijkstra is founder and design principal of the Rotterdam based office Maxwan architects+urbanists. He recently ended his term as Dutch State Advisor for Infrastructure and City and for a year now holds a chair on the Urbanism department of the Architecture Department of the TU Delft.

Maxwan architects+urbanists are highly successful abroad. They have won or ended up as finalists for numerous competitions for prestigious developments such as IFC Moscow, Skolkova Gardens Moscow, Moscow Riverzone, Basel City Center and Mechelen Boulevard.

As supervisor Rients Dijkstra attended various national and international projects like the development of the Rotterdam and Leiden Central Station Areas, Barking Riverside Project London or the Green Singel Antwerp.
