On Friday 21 June 2019, the very first Emerging Designer Day will be held in Amsterdam. This event connects young designers with clients and shows the quality of the new generation of (landscape-)architects and urban planners. Energy transition and sustainability are central themes to this first edition.
Private and public events
The Emerging Designer Day consists of a private programme and a public event. During the private sessions young designers work together with professionals on real cases contributed by AM, BPD, Ymere, Wonam, G&S Vastgoed and the Alliance. In the afternoon presentations of the workshops can be attended by the public, followed by a lecture of Floris Alkemade (Rijksbouwmeester) and the official opening of Archiprix 2019.
The event takes place at the heart of innovation: the new Studio by NEMO Science Museum at the Marineterrein. The Studio is a laboratory for social challenges and a sustainable living environment.
