Enneüs HeermabrugThis bridge is named after the Amsterdam politician Enneüs Heerma (1944-1999). With four carriageways and a tram track, the bridge is the main link between the rest of the city and IJburg. The bridge consists of two main spans, each measuring 75 metres, a 30 metre middle section and two 25 metre approach spans. The deck is suspended from an undulating arched structure by means of hanging bars. With such dimensions, the bridge is one of the largest bridges in Amsterdam. It has already been given several nicknames, including the Bra and the IJ Cup. (ARCAM/TV) |
