Floor Arons and Arnoud Gelauff (Arons & Gelauff Architecten)

What personalities lie behind much talked-about buildings such as the new animal rescue centre in Osdorp and the Pontsteiger building, scheduled to be built in 2009, between Houthavens and the Silodam? On the first evening of ARCAM in de Brakke Grond after the summer, Floor Arons and Arnoud Gelauff gave a glimpse behind the scenes. Arons (1968) studied at the TU in Delft and Gelauff (1963) at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. Soon after setting up in practice in 1996 they realized a large housing complex in Osdorpplein (first prize international competition Europan 4), followed by De Rokade, the tallest residential tower in Groningen and student accommodation on the Campus in Enschede. They are currently working on Blok 62 on IJburg, housing complex Blijvenburg in Rotterdam and on a study for Zeeburgereiland. See: www.aronsengelauff.nl.
