Frits Palmboom


Frits Palmboom (1951) studied urban planning at the Technical University at Delft. In 1981 het started working at the urban planning department of Rotterdam. Here he worked on Prinseneiland, e new housing area in Alexander Polder. He started his own office in 1990 and worked on several projects in Amsterdam, The Hague, Delft (Spoortunnel), Groningen (Molukkenplantsoen) and Maastricht (Amby Zuid-Oost). In 1994 Jaap van den Bout joined the company. At this moment the office works on urban design schemes for VINEX-locations Ypenburg and Leidsche Rijn (Utrecht). Smaller plans are mader for Vlaardingen (Buizengat), Groningen (Buitenhof and Piccardthofplas), and Middelburg (Railway Station area, Magistraatwijk).
