The exhibition ‘Glimpses’ is about the future of the sustainable city, or rather the metropolitan areas of Amsterdam and New York. It focuses on the way we live, work, meet and move in the city in 2040 and how it will impact the physical city. ‘Glimpses, New York & Amsterdam 2040’ is a collaborative project between ARCAM and the AIA Center for Architecture in New York in which the focus is on the exchange of knowledge regarding the sustainable future of the two cities.
The aim of the project Glimpses was to create an exchange platform that can provide a stimulus for the international professional debate surrounding the theme and can lead to new, innovative developments in both cities. See also our Blog Glimpses.

Glimpses is a collaboration of ARCAM, Luc Vrolijks ((Urban Progress) and the AIA Center for Architecture NY.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Luc Vrolijks (13-06-59 / 01-08-11), the initiator of the exchange project ‘Glimpses’. Luc played a vital role in the project: he not only brought the Center for Architecture in New York and ARCAM together, as co-curator he also made a huge contribution to the exhibition and peripheral programming in both Amsterdam and New York.
Glimpses is supported by:
the Netherlands Architecture Fund and The Royal Netherlands Embassy / Consulate General in New York, SNS Reaal and by Glimpse-sponsors Priva (‘Eating’) and Proper Stok (‘Dwelling’).
