Housing with facilities for drug addicts
The HVO Querido shelter Anton de Komplein provides drug addicts with accommodation for shorter or longer periods. There are also facilities and programmes for residents and for external clients.
The building is organized along the edges of the plot, which results in four stacked programmatic rings. In the centre of these rings is a void. This atrium forms the centre of the building and is used for various activities that are conducive to the (re)socialization of residents. From this atrium there is visual contact with the corridors on the floors above. Because of the centrally situated overpressure stairwell, a second fire escape was not necessary. The apartments are situated on the upper floors. The living space is 25 square metres per person, which exceeds even the standard for social housing.
A large skylight delivers daylight into the heart of the building. On the third floor, a roof terrace is situated on the atrium. It is an intimate space in the form of an introverted court. (OGA)
