Office building with large atriumThe office building ‘Forum’ is situated on a prime site, close to the A10 ring road and thus a stone’s throw from Schiphol, adjoining the core area of the Zuidas. The building consists of two five-storey office wings positioned parallel to each other. Situated in the space between these wings is an atrium, which because of the large glazed roof, supported by sixteen tall wooden columns, can function as the central social zone for the employees. The offices looking out onto this space benefit from the light which enters through the roof. The entrance is situated in a heart-shaped volume, clad with copper plate, which penetrates the atrium on the south side. The exterior elevation of this remarkably open and transparent building is clad with durable materials such as natural stone and glass. (ARCAM/BU) |
