September 23rd 2008 ARCAM organized an evening of stories in Amsterdam Zuidoost. The evening began with introductions ofJoop de Haan, Dirk Frieling en Els Verdonk and Ruud van Aerde and Floris van den Biggelaar who explained their graduation project about high-density building in de Bijlmer. After thid there was a discussion to the control of Maarten Kloos, director of ARCAM.
Questions that were raised were: what is the influence of politics on architecture and urban planning? Is urban transformation possible without governemental renewal?
It was an evening in which the neighbourhood came alive by personal stories.
This evening is connected with the national Day of Architecture that ARCAM and the BNA organized on June 21st in Zuidoost.
